Back @ the Ville

Well, I'm back in Ohio at Cedarville university. It's really good to be back and see everyone, especially my boyfriend, Mike. Classes start tomorrow, so I guess i'm not excited about that, but this year I'm going to be studious. I know some of you who know me well are laughing right now! But i'm gonna show you!
My roomate, Rachel, and I have put our room together, and I think it's incredible! Mike blew up some pictures of us in black and white adn they add a lot. Ok, so maybe you can tell that I don't have much to say!
We are having Bible conference this week, and I pray that the Lord makes me moldable and usable for Him. Read I Cor. 1 if you get the chance. Verse 25 is amazing!

"For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men."

Let Him be your strength and wisdom today!

You're still reading this???

For those of my faithful few out there that still read this thing, although I haven't posted in some time, THANKS! It's been a busy summer, but it's almost over. I must say that I'm excited to return to Cedarville in just a few weeks. The bank is a great job, but i'm sick of handling other peoples' money.
So, what's been going on in my life?? Absolutely nothing, i think. But God has been so good! If you've never read Experiencing God, please do. I'm sure I've said it before, but it's an incredible book. I have about 2 pages left. The Lord has truly used it to work in my heart.
The book is a lot about finding God's will...but not a specific job or place...just Him. He has shown me that if I am pursuing a genuine love relationship with Him, I will always be in the very center of His will for my life. When He speaks, I will be there to listen. If a decision arises, I will know, through His power, which way to go. He is good!! He constantly reminds me that I must take every day moment by moment. So do that! It's worth it! You won't pass up as many opportunities as you might if you just fly through every day.
Pray for me, if you feel the leading! I work in a branch with a lot of women who do not know that Lord. I have exactly 7 more days of work. pray that the Lord will use me and work through me to show them Who He is. And pray that I will be willing!

love to all!

Long Time, No See

It's been a while since my last post. I knew there would come a day when I completely forgot I had one of these things! Well, a lot has been happening since I last wrote!
#1 - A fellow co-worker, at the bank, shut her thumb in the vault door and completely broke the top part of her thumb bone. It snapped completely in half and was hanging by a piece of skin.
#2 - I hung up on a client because she was being ridiculously rude to me. Guess I'm gonna get fired next week!
#3 - i have been dating Mike Halsmith for 7 months. That's a crazy long time, but I'm loving every minute of it!
#4 - Mike surprised me by popping in at the Calhoun BB&T branch. He just walked in front of the drive-thru window and my eyes got as big as saucers! It was great to see him again.
#5 - Jenni and the entire Raper family left and forever put a dent in my plans of always having them around! But I hope they get settled in well and are very happy, seeing as the whole family is back in one piece!
#6 - My big sister, Kate, is going to be starring in the film Evan Almighty, the sequel to Bruce Almighty. She went today and is an extra in the final scene. She's a movie star!!
#7 - I have gotten paid twice and have used the money to buy gas, gas, and more gas! Love these prices!
#8 - I am visiting a church in the area that has a great college class. My uncle teaches it and it is pretty cool. May continue to visit.
#9 - Pretty much out of things to talk about, but the Lord has been incredibly awesome! He continues to show me Himself. That's a pretty cool thing! He is showing me the importance of developing a love relationship with Him. It's the #1 priority in life!!

I love each and every one of you who read this blog! Seeing as it's probably no one!! :) Fun to imagine that a lot of people read this, though!

Peace out.

To Grandmother's House We Go!!

Did you ever see that Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen movie with the same title? It was always one of my favorite holiday films. Anyways, my title stems from my present circumstance! My parents are in Mexico on a mission's trip so my little brother and I are spending a few days with my grandma. i know I'm old and should be able to be alone but my work place is only 5 minutes from here and almost 45 minutes from my house. So since gas prices are making my bank account laugh out in hilarious scorn, I have decided to stick around here until Thursday.
Anyways, so i wokr up at 515 this morning to get ready for work. I made my way down the stairs with my blue pants in tow. They needed ironing...something I rarely ever do, but felt motivated or something! So I turned the hot iron on and went to town on those bad boys. All of a sudden thie piercing wail shot through the air and freaked the living daylights out of me! the smoke detector! Obviously the iron was way too hot. So it went off a total of 3 times and cause my hands to tremble for at least the next 6 hours. So i freaked myself out completely and thought that a night at grandma's would probably be nice.
I'm quite lonely without my parents! My little brother is leaving for Mexico on Sunday so I will be home alone on the old homestead. For all your stalkers reading this, I guess this is a prime opportunity for a house call. I need to be more careful
Hope everyone is having an amazing summer! If you've never read Experiencing God by Blackaby, read it. It's wonderful

Captivated

Have you ever read the book Captivating by the Eldredges? Amazing book about who we are as women in Christ. The book brought with it a new way for me to see God. Yes, He is my Savior, Friend, Redeemer, Judge, and Father, but He is also, and most exciting, my Lover.
When I first started thinking about that concept, I thought to myself, "This HAS to be wrong. Can I really see God like this??" But the Song of Solomon is about God calling for us as a lover. Not only do we have that "God-sized hole" that only He can fill, but He also has a place in His heart that only we can fill.
He thinks we're beautiful! He WANTS to spend time with us. We CAPTIVATE Him. Isn't that a neat thought?
Being a girl, I know that every woman desires to captivate someone. Whether that is a parent, a boyfriend, a husband, or a friend, we all desire to be so beautiful, inside and out, that we completely captivate another's attention. As little girls, we dress up in beautiful dresses and spin round and round for everyone to see how beautiful we are. but we NEED someone to say, "You are beautiful. You captivate me. You are important to me."
But we must always remember that we cannot look to others on this earth to give us that affirmation. This must come from God alone. Dive into His Word and find how you can be beautiful to Him. Then captivate Him. Every single day, grab His attention and ask Him to unveil your beauty so that others can see the God of your beauty.

Just a thought. It challenged me and I thought it may challenge someone that reads this!
